67-Pound Striper Caught

Connecticut resident Dan Radman kicked-off his 2022 fishing season with a bang last week while fishing a bit to the south in a tributary to the Chesapeake Bay. Dan was fishing a fire tiger Rapala Super Shad Rap when he hooked into the fish of a lifetime, a striped bass that measured 52.5 inches and sported a 32-inch girth. Current striped bass regulations require the fish to be released, so according to the striped bass weight formula (length x girth²/800), the fish weighed an impressive 67.2 pounds! He also landed three more striped bass on the day that weighed in excess of 35 pounds to go along with several smaller fish and the giant bass.
