Webinar Recording: Updates to California’s Prop 65

Earlier this month, ASA partnered with a leading regulatory law firm to provide updates on the future of California’s Proposition 65. The state recently finalized changes to the commonly used short form warning labels, requiring that products be labeled with at least one chemical name and providing additional warning options. These changes go into effect Jan. 1, 2028, but companies are advised to prepare for the new label requirements sooner rather than later.

We are making the recording available to all ASA members. Click the link below to request access.

House to Vote on Great Lakes Fishery Bill

This week, the U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote on the Great Lakes Fishery Reauthorization Act (S. 2878) sponsored by Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI). This bill, introduced in the House as H.R.1809 led by Rep. Quigley (D-IL) would extend funding for research and monitoring in the Great Lakes basin. Specifically, S. 2878 would support the Great Lakes Science Center in Ann Arbor, MI. It cleared the Senate in November.

The Great Lakes provide endless opportunities for recreational anglers and contribute billions of dollars to our nation’s economy. According to a 2022 report, the sportfishing industry contributes $5.1 billion to the region’s economy each year.
