ASA Joins National Conservation Leaders at North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference

Last week, ASA President, Glenn Hughes, and members of the Government Affairs staff joined colleagues from federal and state wildlife management agencies, conservation organizations, and outdoor businesses at the 89th annual event in Grand Rapids, MI. 

Our team discussed the future of fisheries management, coordination between stakeholders, and the role of technology in outdoor pursuits.

Collaboration in Kentucky 

The newest Partner with a Payer video highlights sport fish conservation efforts and shows how industry contributions to the Sport Fish Restoration Act bolster sustainable fish populations in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Fishing opportunities across the country are made possible by the important partnership between state and federal agencies, sportfishing manufacturers and anglers. Watch Here

Protect Access to Fishing in Vermont

A new bill, officially called SB 258, would require representation from “balanced viewpoints” on the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board, replacing representation for fishing with representation from wildlife watchers and other users, while requiring the legislative appointment of two new board members. Following in the footsteps of states like Washington and Oregon, SB 258 could lead to the appointment of Board members who may seek to restrict access and opportunities for anglers.
