Barnie White and Dwayne Mills Win First Team of the Year

How does a team this good not have a Team of the Year in their back pocket? Points Race Here.

We have our thoughts and are very proud that our changes to the team format, equipment and procedures have helped shine the spotlight on the best of the very best anglers on the Elite Redfish Series and the sport overall.

On the Elite Redfish Series anglers must be able to locate, catch, land and release tournament winning redfish consistently during high pressure events both on familiar and unfamiliar waters as this team did this year when they notched a top 5 finish in Jacksonville Florida.

Teams hoping to claim the title of Team of the Year must practice and compete with standardized and regulated equipment, formats and procedures. See more here.

The season started with White/Mills scraping the ice off their boat in Slidell and navigating to a great 2nd place finish at the kickoff event in February. Next up they captured the top spot with a win in the 2nd event of the season, took a solid 3rd in Jacksonville and finished this past weekend with another top 5 finish, 3rd place.

“Consistency is the key and locating and landing good fish at each event was our goal, this is what we really wanted.” Barnie White told the great group of people gathered at Rigolets Marina Saturday in Slidell, LA. as he spoke of the Team of the Year award. Team Blazer Bay Boats White/Mills totaled 1634 points while their closest challengers, Billiot/Dowdy finished with 1621.

Fighting through ice, sleet, rain, lightening and more of the elements this team used consistency to become the first team to punch a ticket to the no entry fee 2022 Bassmaster Redfish Cup $100,000.00 Championship taking place in November, filling 2 of the 4 spots set a sided for Elite Redfish Series pros this season.
