Become An Angler Education Instructor

Who: Lake and fishing enthusiasts, youth leaders, classroom teachers, community center staff and civic leaders are encouraged to attend as a team or form a team at the workshop.

What: This year’s Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Convention will feature workshops to certify Angler Education Instructors and provide tips and materials to help you lead fishing clinics. You’ll have opportunities to practice your teaching, too. We’ve geared this workshop to fishing club members who lead the annual kids’ clinics in southeast Wisconsin, but other people who would like to get certified are welcome to attend.

Successful program models include community fishing outings, summer enrichment classes, day camps, school-family events, helping scouts earn merit badges, after-school fishing clubs, meet-ups for young adults and adult education.

When: Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Note: This is a two-part workshop. The afternoon portion is optional.

Where: Holiday Inn Convention Center, 1001 Amber Ave, Stevens Point, Wisconsin

Cost: These workshops are free as part of your Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers Convention registration. If you must cancel, please contact the convention organizers immediately at wiwaterweek@wisconsinlakes.org.

Registration Deadline: Registration closes Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
