Fly Fishers International has awarded a Conservation Grant to the Conservation Resource Alliance in Michigan supporting a project to stabilize the embankment, minimize sedimentation and protect valuable fish habitat within a key section of the Pere Marquette River. We are proud to join the FFI Great Lakes Council, West Michigan Hacklers (an FFI Charter Club), and other conservation partners to preserve this Michigan blue-ribbon stream and its long fly-fishing history.
Conservation Grants are an important part of the conservation strategy of Fly Fishers International. Grants are how FFI invests critical dollars into habitat management projects that preserve water quality and habitat for fish and other wildlife. These projects serve as examples of what FFI advocates in its “Policy on Public Lands and Waters of the US”
The FFI Board Conservation Committee accepts applications for Conservation Grants throughout the year. While FFI focuses on providing grants to its clubs and councils, grants from outside organizations will be considered as well. The criteria and application can be found by clicking the link below.
