Gambler and Hookup Lures Focus on “Tog” Fishing in March

The tautog is one of the most sought-after rockfish in New England, and a favorite among northern anglers. Known for its human-like teeth and its crushing bite, tog is considered a delicacy in the northern Atlantic fishery.

The rocky structures inhabited by the tautog give it the reputation of being one of the tougher northern fish to catch.

For 2021, Gambler Lures and its sister jig and bucktail company, Hookup Lures, are putting the spotlight on “Tog” tackle with an array of products specifically designed to pursue one of the most targeted game fish in the Northeast.

The Tog line of jigs can be rigged with either live bait such as crabs or soft plastics and the Big Bucktail.

On the Gambler soft plastics side, the release of the new Jaw Breaker Shrimp and the entire 3X tough soft plastics line give anglers a wide range of options for scented artificial jig trailers.
