Help Support Fisheries Research In Lake Superior

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is assisting researchers at Michigan Technological University (MTU) in conducting both a survey and interviews to gather information on angler awareness, values and preferences for recreational burbot fishing within the Lake Superior basin. This information can help fisheries biologists balance sustainable harvest and angler satisfaction.

The Lake Superior basin in Wisconsin includes the northern parts of Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland and Iron counties.

If you fish for burbot in the Lake Superior basin, you are invited to participate in the survey or sign up for an interview with the research team.

If you have any questions about this research, please contact Greyson Wolf with the MTU Department of Biological Sciences at GreysonW@mtu.edu.
