New Jersey Begins Fall Trout Stocking

Beginning October 12, two-year old trout averaging about 14″-16″ in length along with some three-year old broodstock, will be stocked in 36 streams, lakes and ponds throughout New Jersey.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife will stock approximately 21,000 trout in the state’s major trout waters. The fish are stocked from the Pequest Trout Hatchery starting October 12 through October 20.

All fall-stocked waters may be fished as soon as they are stocked. Waterbodies stocked will be posted in our Facebook and Instagram stories and on our website after stocking is completed each day (the stocking schedule is not publicly available to prevent unsafe crowding at popular locations)
