About Prescott Grants

Prescott Grants support a core mission of NOAA Fisheries— the conservation and recovery of protected marine species—by helping to improve our national marine mammal stranding and entanglement response capabilities and investigations into marine mammal health. Marine mammals are important sentinels of ocean health, and the work of our Network partners significantly helps NOAA establish links among the health of marine mammals, coastal ecosystems, and coastal communities.

Proposals Sought for FY2023

Additionally, NOAA Fisheries is reminding the Marine Mammal Stranding and Entanglement Response Networks that the Notice of Funding Opportunity for FY 2023 Prescott grants published on July 14, and the deadline for application submission is October 12, 2022. More information on the FY 2023 John H. Prescott Marine Mammal Rescue Assistance Grant competition can be found online.

NOAA appreciates and supports the valuable work our Stranding Network, Entanglement Response Network, and marine mammal health research partners provide.
