Realtree Fishing Presents Pond Wars

COLUMBUS, Georgia – What happens when Realtree Fishing brings together some of the top bass pros and influencers in the nation for a one-day, no-practice tournament on a trophy bass lake none of them have ever seen? You can watch it now on Pond Wars on Realtree 365.

The five, two-man teams who participated were pro angler Jacob Wheeler and Realtree photographer Matt Harrison; pro angler Dustin Connell and Seek One’s Lee Ellis; Duck Commander’s Justin Martin and Realtree funny-man Michael Pitts; pro anglers Casey Ashley, Mark Daniels, Jr., and Justin Atkins and Seek One’s Drew Carroll. These hardcore competitors don’t play when it comes to catching fish, but each also brought his own sense of humor and library of smack talk to the game.

No doubt this inaugural event, presented by Keystone Light, will be fun to watch, and there is plenty to see with multiple cameras capturing the action from various angles. Not a single bite was missed and trust us, there were a few big bites.

The rules were simple. Follow all DNR laws and be back at the dock by the designated time. The team with the best total five-bass weight takes home the trophy.

While you’ll have to watch Realtree 365 to find out who won, you most likely won’t be surprised to know that the team of Justin Martin and Michael Pitts finished last. But Pitts was consoled with the fact that tournament MC Michael Mixon, who is also a champion pit master, was smoking ribs and brisket on the shore. In fact, he shares tips for cooking perfect barbecue throughout several “Pond Wars” sidebars.

So, tune into Pond Wars on Realtree 365 starting today to share in the fun of big bass, good barbecue and cold Keystones.
