Redfish Bragging Rights on the Line in Newest Episode of “Chasin’ The Sun”

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Friendly fishing turns into fierce competition when Capt. Justin Leake challenges the team from Florida Watersports to a redfish tournament on this week’s episode of “Chasin’ The Sun”, Flats Man Do Challenge. The award-winning television show, presented by Visit Panama City Beach, will air on Saturday, April 30 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern & Pacific / 7:30 a.m. Central on Discovery Channel.

Capt. Leake calls on his former tournament partner, redfish pro Fred Myers, to team up against Jeff Lange of Florida Watersports and Brian Bruhmuller, a local offshore charter captain, for some good-natured competition. The goal is to determine who can come up with the best rigs and strategy to land shallow water redfish in the bays. The prize is only bragging rights, but each pair of anglers is determined to out-fish the other team.

While Leake and Myers sightfish the shallow flats from the boat tower, Lange and Bruhmuller head to West Bay for tailing redfish feeding on finger mullet. Both teams find success, but the so-called “champions” won’t be crowned until everyone meets back at the dock.

The fishing and coastal lifestyle television program showcases the diverse angling, diving and cultural opportunities found in the emerald-green waters of Panama City Beach. Season seven sponsors of “Chasin’ The Sun” include Dulce Vida Tequila, Florida Watersports, Grundéns, Holiday Inn Resort, Humminbird, Minn Kota, Pirates Cove Marina and Smith Optics.

Produced in partnership with Pinfish Media, new episodes of “Chasin’ The Sun” will air January through June during Discovery Channel’s Saturday morning outdoor programming schedule.
