Rising Star Rookie Tyler Williams Set To Shine At 2024 Bassmaster Classic

Belgrade, ME, – Tyler Williams, a 22-year-old rising star in the bass fishing world from Belgrade, ME, is set to make another mark at the upcoming 2024 Bassmaster Classic. His journey to this prestigious event began with a remarkable victory at the seventh EQ tournament of the 2023 season at Watts Bar Reservoir, earning him a coveted berth to the Classic.

Williams’ path to success has been marked by dedication, passion, and a love for the sport that runs deep. Introduced to fishing by his father, Bob, Williams quickly developed a knack for bass fishing, honing his skills on the waters of Torsey Pond and beyond. His early experiences with topwater baits and jigs laid the foundation for his tournament career, where he has consistently showcased his prowess on the water. 

Driven by a desire to compete at the highest level, Williams transitioned from local derbies to larger tournaments, including B.A.S.S. Nation High School events and the Bassmaster Opens. His commitment to improvement and willingness to push himself beyond his comfort zone have been instrumental in his rise from EQ to the Elite Series and Classic qualification.

“I’m one of those people who has to go in over my skill level and force myself to get better,” Williams said of his approach to tournament fishing.

With a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of bass behavior, Williams has proven himself a formidable competitor on the water. Williams has shown tremendous success in the 2023 season, including multiple Top 10 finishes and a sixth place ranking in the EQ standings, and now his success in the 2024 season in the Bassmaster Elite Series where he finished 4th on Lake Fork and currently ranks 9th in the AOY standings.

As he prepares to tackle the challenges of the Bassmaster Classic, Williams remains focused and determined to make his mark on one of bass fishing’s biggest stages.
