Bryson City, NC – The Southern Fly Fishing Hall of Fame and the Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians’ 6th Annual Hall of Fame Weekend Celebration will be held Friday & Saturday, May 5 & 6, 2023.
The celebration begins with the Friday, May 5 ‘Lagers with Legends’ fundraiser at Mountain Layers Brewery, 90 Everett Street, beginning at 6 pm. Each 2023 inductee will select a beer to be renamed after them during the event, and Mountain Layers will donate $1 for each of those beers sold during the evening to support the Southern Fly Fishing Hall of Fame. The evening also includes a raffle and silent auction. No cover charge.
On Saturday, May 6, the festivities continue at the historic Fryemont Inn, located at 245 Fryemont Street. At noon on the patio, inductees and guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. At 1:00 pm lunch will be served in the Fryemont dining room, followed by the Class of 2023 Induction Ceremony.

The cost is $45 per adult, and $25 for children 16 and under. All tickets will be available for pickup at Will Call at the luncheon on May 6.
Bryson City is one hour west of Asheville; two hours from Knoxville, and Greenville/Spartanburg, and three hours from Atlanta, Chattanooga and Charlotte.

The 2023 Southern Fly Fishing Hall of Fame inductees are Jen Ripple (Communications), Mike LaVoie (Conservation), Walter Babb (Crafts), Captain Jake Jordan (Recreation, and first Saltwater inductee), Don Ray Howell & Dwight G. Howell (Ambassadors), and John Zimmerman & Taylor Sharp (Humanity).
