SPRO professional Jason Christie added another milestone to his Hall of Fame-caliber career with a victory at the 2026 MAXAM Bassmaster Elite Series event at the Pasquotank River and Albemarle Sound. The win marks Christie’s second Bassmaster Elite Series title of the season and the 10th Bassmaster victory of his career, placing him among the most accomplished anglers in the history of the sport.
The Dry Creek, Oklahoma native overcame challenging and ever-changing conditions throughout the four-day event, bringing 19 bass to the scales for a winning total of 92 pounds, 7 ounces. Despite never feeling completely dialed in and struggling to establish a repeatable pattern, Christie relied on experience, instinct, and execution to capitalize on every opportunity the fishery presented.
Fishing primarily in the Chowan River, Christie targeted bass relating to cypress trees, laydowns, stumps, docks, and other isolated pieces of cover. Rather than running a predictable pattern, he spent the week making adjustments on the fly and taking advantage of key opportunities as they
developed.
One of the biggest turning points of the tournament came during the final two days when a single dock produced several of the fish that ultimately carried him to victory. On Championship
Sunday, Christie quickly landed multiple heavyweight bass from the area, including an 8-pound giant that helped create the separation he needed to secure the win.
Throughout the event, Christie relied on his signature SPRO Jason Christie Elite MG Casting Reel, a reel designed to deliver lightweight performance, smooth operation, and dependable fish-fighting power required by professional anglers competing at the highest level.

Whether making precise casts around shallow cover or battling tournament-winning bass in critical moments, the Elite MG provided the confidence and performance Christie expects from his equipment.
“Jason continues to prove why he is one of the most respected and successful anglers in professional bass fishing,” said SPRO National Sales Manager Syd Rives. “Winning ten Bassmaster events is an achievement very few anglers will ever accomplish. We’re proud to have Jason representing SPRO and equally proud to see him continue succeeding with products he helped develop.”
The victory further strengthens Christie’s legacy as one of the sport’s premier competitors while highlighting the value of angler-driven product development. Christie has worked closely with SPRO to refine equipment capable of meeting the demands of the highest levels of tournament competition, and that partnership was once again on display during one of the biggest wins of his career.
