Teofilo And Di Cienzo Clinch The CSFL National Classic Championship

Shimano pros and Ontario natives have a tournament to remember.

Haliburton, ON –  Shimano Pro’s, Joey Di Cienzo and Joey Teofilo win the 2023 CSFL National Classic Championship held on Kashawigamog Lake in Haliburton, Ontario. After two days of intense competition and challenging weather conditions, Di Cienzo and Teofilo emerged victorious, catching 31.24 lbs of Kashawigamog Lake bass.

The Shimano team veterans slowly gained momentum on day one, ending with an impressive 19.12 lb mixed bag of largemouth and smallmouth. Day one focused on targeting suspended bass using front-facing sonar and casting Jackall Rhythm Wave 2.8 swimbaits in both prism shad and alewife colors. On day two, the team battled through bluebird skies on their way to a 12.12 lb bag of smallmouth to secure the win.

“Team Shimano is incredibly excited about this victory,” says Bob Mahoney, Freshwater Marketing Manager for Shimano North America Fishing. “Kashawigamog Lake is a notoriously stingy fishery and it takes flawless decision-making and timely adjustments to be successful, we are proud to produce the quality gear necessary for tournament anglers to fish at an elite level.”

The duo rotated between a variety of finesse techniques to find success with offshore suspended bass.  Throughout the tournament, Teofilo and Di Cienzo utilized G.Loomis IMX-Pro and NRX+ spinning rods, paired with Shimano Stella and Exsence reels. 5lb PowerPro mainline and Shimano Mastiff FC fluorocarbon leader rounded out the tackle systems.

Di Cienzo and Teofilo’s win marks the first time they have won the CSFL National Classic Championship and their performance will go down as one to remember.
