Who: Adult novice anglers who want to learn to ice fish and cook their catch.
What: This 5-session community education-style class begins indoors, where you’ll learn about Madison’s lakes and some of their inhabitants. The UW-Madison ice fishing team will share their secrets on ice fishing techniques at indoor practice sessions, then join us out on the ice for two ice fishing outings. Then we’ll show you how to prepare your catch for the table at a nearby kitchen. All gear and supplies are provided.

Sunday Fishing Outing

Time: 3-6 p.m.
Place: Lake Mendota, Governor Nelson State Park, Middleton. State Park sticker required.

A fishing license is required; however, licenses can be waived for novices with fewer than two years of fishing experience.
