RBFF Publishes 2023 Special Report on Fishing

This year’s Special Report on Fishing highlights market trends, fishing participation data and future projections of the total number of anglers and dollars spent within the recreational fishing industry. The report was published by the Recreational Boating Fishing Foundation and is based on research by Southwick Associates. Learn more

ASA Comments on the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) proposed Conservation and Landscape Health Rule

In early July, ASA wrote to the BLM on their proposed Conservation and Landscape Health rule, which would establish land health safety standards for all BLM-managed lands. While ASA appreciates BLM’s focus on conserving public lands, we are concerned that this rule provides insufficient clarity and detail on both its understanding of conservation and how it would establish a conservation leasing mechanism. ASA Provides Input on NOAA’s Proposed Lake Erie Quadrangle National Marine Sanctuary Designation

Earlier today, ASA and the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation sent a joint letter to NOAA on the possible designation of a Lake Erie Quadrangle National Marine Sanctuary. We encourage NOAA to follow the precedent created when designating other Great Lakes sanctuaries by maintaining Pennsylvania’s scientific management of Lake Erie’s fisheries and safeguarding recreational access.
